We have chosen some of last year’s favorite items to offer each week as “to go” meals. You may grab a handy prepared meal, or buy items by the pound from the deli/salad cases.

The foods we offer regularly are:
Our famous Crab Cake– The sweet and succulent crab is perfect for a crispy cake. Ours is full of crab chunks and just the right amount of crab spice.
Vegetarian Lasagna- A large serving of layered vegetables, cheese and pasta. If you are a vegetarian, you’ll love our no meat version of lasagna
Grilled Salmon- Each week we prepare a grilled salmon with a special glaze. This week we have a compound butter with sun-dried tomatoes and pistachios.
In addition we have many side dishes such as roasted potatoes, roasted vegetables, roasted asparagus, and any of our special salads.

This week we visit two sides of the world. We would never neglect our own back yards and back beaches, harbors, and bays — the fine recipes that come from generations of Cape Cod cooks–using the fresh summer produce and fruits of land and sea. And this week we celebrate the tastes of the other side of our globe and the country of China. As the world visits China for the 2008 Olympics, we at Sam Cooks visit the recipes of several regions of China. (for a story of Sam’s travels in China, click here.)
Soy-marinated Fish–A fresh fillet of mild tilapia fish, marinated in traditional Chinese spices with soy and sesame. This is a dish fit for an emperor or an Olympic spectator.
Chinese Zodiac Cashew Pork–You will enjoy at least six months of good luck with this delicious stir fry of pork, carrots, and jumbo roasted cashews. 2008 is the year of the rat in the Chinese zodiac, but with this great pork dish, you’ll think it is the year of the pig.
Chinese Chicken with Mushrooms (Mah Gu Gai Pin)–Thin strips of juicy white breast meat of chicken, marinated in Chinese rice wine and oyster sauce. The slices are stir fried with bamboo shoots, straw mushrooms, and ginger soy sauce.
Broccoli and Tofu in Spicy Almond Sauce–A vegetarian delight from China with a distinctive tamari flavor enhanced by crunch almonds and a pinch of Sichuan pepper heat.

The small farms of Cape Cod are harvesting fresh vegetables, the fishermen are catching fish daily, and the tourists are here to enjoy it all. At Sam Cooks we honor those flavors with these entrees this week:
Cape Cod Meatloaf- Remember mom’s meatloaf? We have an equally (or better-depending on your mom) good version with our own Cape Cod cranberry glaze. It is prepared in an large individual serving.
Sweet and Sour Cranberry Balsamic Chicken on Mashed Sweet Potatoes w/pecans–A juicy chicken breast in a sweet and sour sauce of Cape Cod cranberries and balsamic vinegar. The chicken is served over rich, spiced, mashed sweet potatoes with toasted pecans.
Cape Cod Summer Vegetable Gratin–The fresh local vegetables of Cape Cod farms, (zucchini, onions, eggplant, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers) are layered with a creamy, cheesy layer and topped with crisp buttery bread crumbs. This is a delicious vegetarian casserole.
Provincetown Portuguese Bluefish–From our own Atlantic Ocean comes this flavorful bluefish, prepared in a traditional Portuguese sauce of tomatoes, onions, and saffron.
